Five Nights At Billy Bob's

You've got to take the good with the bad.  For every lost Christmas classic I give you, I feel like I have to give you a Christmas, umm, klunker.  First shared out in 2010, and brought back this year for your disco dancing pleasure, this is The Rock-Afire Explosion-Disco Christmas (Showbiz Pizza Place-Creative Records VI 7" 33 RPM, Stereo, 1982).

1. Disco Christmas
2. In December
3. If Every Day Were Like Christmas-Featuring Billy Bob

  1. The cover alone is horrifying. The things you pick up.

  2. So bad, I can't even use it in my disco Christmas collection.

  3. This brings back many great memories being a kid growing up in the 80's it seemed everyone had their birthday parties at Show Biz. The various characters used to freak us out when we would peer behind the curtain when they weren't playing just standing motionless with their eyes open.

  4. At first glance, this looks like a harmless kiddie record they might hand out @ Chuck-E-Cheese during the 80s.
BUT, enlarge the cover to its extreme and you can see all kinds of interesting, sinister details!
For example, Santa's helpers have morphed into all kinds of vermin and filth.
Santa probably gave his reindeer some strange pills and they all turned into Gorillas, Wolves (and Muppets??)
In the forefront, there's one rodent so high on drugs that he's dragging his surf board through the snow.
Finally, check out Santa: his eyes all bloodshot and stoned-looking.
Subliminal messages aimed at our impressionable youngsters? At Christmas time?!?!
In this record, I smell me a Commie Conspiracy, designed to get our innocent children to hooked on Rock & Roll and questioning authoritay!
Oh, btw, thanks for this lovely, entertaining Christmas record, Ernie :)
